Newsagents Meet at Surfers (CRN)
Tonnex International made the early journey to Surfers Paradise to exhibit at the 2007 Newsagents Convention as a supporting sponsor for the first time. The print toner distributor currently sells a range of products to newsagents across the country, and it wanted to show its strong commitment to this growing market segment.
The convention saw hundreds of delegates pack the Marriot Resort for a range of workshop sessions to peruse the exhibitors’ information and offers.
This year’s theme was ‘Breakthrough’, with an inherent focus on new markets and new profits. The constant message was clearly centered around running a newsagency more like a retail business. This paves the way for selling computer consumables, which a large portion of the attending newsagents were already doing.
With the support and assistance of the Australian Newsagents Federation, the distributor was able to make the four-day convention a huge success, with hundreds of newsagents expressing their interest – the large majority registered for the Reseller Rewards program, where they earned some fantastic prizes in the raffle.
